Blondie Brownies

When I was younger, my Grandma Biggs would always make blondie brownies when my sister and I would come and spend the night. Us kids would always help her as well. Sometimes she put nuts in them, sometimes we left them out. Either way, the brownies were amazing! Grandma Biggs told Brittney and I that my dad loves these! That was kinda special. So now, these blondie brownies are my favorite kind of brownies. 
              1/4 cup butter or margarine
              1 cup packed light-brown sugar
              1 egg
              3/4 cup all-purpose flour
              1 teaspoon baking powder
              1/2 teaspoon salt
              1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
              1/2 cup coarsley chopped nuts (optional)
 **Melt butter over low heat. Remove from heat, add brown sugar 

                                  **and stir until well blended; cool. Add egg and mix well.
                                   **Stir in dry ingredients, then add vanilla and nuts. 
stir well 

                                   **Spread in well-buttered 8" square pan and bake in moderate oven (350 degrees F)
                                       about 25 minutes. 

                                   **Cool in pan on cake rack. Then cut in 2" squares. Makes sixteen.

^^^ Mine came out a bit crumbly :) But still tasty!
